When I was interviewed recently I was asked this question: If I say Cluetrain Manifesto to you how would you choose to reply?
This is one of the many books that I have read and it set me thinking what you read not only increases your knowledge it also instantly connects you with people. There are some books that have shaped my understanding of how the IT industry works and are an on-going source of reference for my own work as an author. Here is another thing, while on a panel (2013) taking questions from an audience of institutional investors wanting to hear about how the cloud would influence their investment strategies it was interesting to hear references to Crossing the Chasm that was first published in 1991 and revised in 1999 when I was fortunate to attend a lecture by the author Geoffrey Moore.
To my surprise I continually meet people in the IT industry that don’t read anything other than the stream of news that is available online and sometimes in print. If you have any of your own book recommendations please drop me a note. Thank You.
